Has anyone suggested this possibility? It would seem to me the people who have the most to lose in all this are the biggest and most powerful companies in the world, whose secret proprietary information is now surely stored somewhere in an NSA database... who needs corporate spies, when all you need is a contact inside the NSA and some bundles of cash?

(34,845 posts)Your local LE records. But I think it's a safe bet to assume those records are pretty well protected, as evidenced by S&G's inability to obtain personal data, only internal NSA briefing documents.
I agree with Carl Bernstein that from what we know, the safeguards and restrictions in place are pretty good.
