he's been there a long time already, and in some horrific conditions. I hope that is taken into consideration.

I know he's not well connected like Scooter Libby, so I don't hold a lot of hope that he'll get a break.

Our President justified his prosecution saying "we are a nation of laws" except when it comes to blank fraud, fleecing the poor, torture and war crimes.

prior to that, he was in Quantico and Iraq.

So he has time served, and will get credit for that, plus some extra time off for the fact that when he was in Quantico, he was improperly put on POI restrictions.

His defense delayed trial for a considerable time, to Manning's benefit--pre-trial he went to medium security. Post-trial he will be in maximum security, so every day he served in medium is one less he has to serve in maximum.

I am thinking that in those charges there is the possibility of a lighter sentence because he cooperated.

That and the adverse treatment he has received may mean a reduced sentence.

Just a wild guess but I will guess 5 years.

Because of the volume of material he released I would be surprised if he gets less than 5 years, with time served credited.

will be consecutive. A single, concurrent sentence will be handed down, with time served subtracted. Even military courts aren't without reason. We'll see.

I am hoping the 2 year charges are all "time served" and the 10 year charges run concurrently. I think that is the best we can hope for.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Bradley Manning's sentencing trial begins tomorrow. No minimums required and new evidence allowed. This fight is far from over.
