I would like to disband the military entirely and take our chances. How much have we spent on 2 unwinnable wars since 2003 compared with how much we've spent on disaster relief? And how much disaster relief has been needed because of underfunding of infrastructure repair and/or climate change? IDIOTS!

3. National Guard, Coast Guard,

a small Air Force, a Navy (which includes the Marines). Get rid entirely of the Army. If you check the Constitution, armies weren't supposed to exist except by necessity to fight wars as needed.
All its perpetual existence does is tempt Presidents to wage unnecessary wars. Mostly if you need an army for some reason, you can Federalize the National Guard, which, for instance, LBJ did for responding to the Detroit riots, and Dubya did for the Iraq War, once he figured out the Army wasn't big enough to handle that and everything else it does around the world. If he didn't have that army to start with, I have no doubt Iraq wouldn't have happened.
