The Brutal Truth Is That American Corporations Don't Need American Consumers Anymore.

Corporate CEO's have directly said we don't need American consumers anymore. We can make enough profit in the global economy. China and India are more important to us than America. America is no longer our major market.

So business doing business in the US is ok with "market wages" and status quo on consumer demand. That reason is why they will continue to drive wages down in the US. As a matter of fact is it not obvious that they don't really want to hire American workers either. If you look at outsourcing and off shoring as well as the request for UNLIMITED "immigration work visas" replacing American workers is in vogue. American workers get the crumbs.

Read the writing on the wall. And the GOP fully support sending jobs to China and India. Yet they fly the flag/

and slap massive tarriffs on cheap plastic crap from China, India, and other third-world hellholes that take unfair advantage of laborers--even if it means dragging the unelected corporate governments kicking and screaming into some modicum of fundamental fairness.

There have been a number of GATT rounds since the late 70s and each one brings worse conditions to the US.

So forget about that ever happening. It's over and we let the bad guys win in massive landslides in 1980 and 84. The middle class happily cut their own throats.

They don't need us anymore. There are brand new emerging middle classes to exploit. That's why they won't fix the infrastructure, upgrade the electric grid or anything of the sort. They've sucked us dry and it's time to move on.

Cut more services, wages and programs meant to benefit citizens so they have more money to throw at corporations in the futile hope they'll hire US workers or pay taxes.
