China as a military threat: CHINESE HACKERS HIT DELL

A warning about a military threat posed by China from space comes to us via Space
China’s Military Space Surge
By Craig Covault,Aerospace America

China’s surging military space program is poised to challenge U.S. aircraft carrier operations in the Pacific, as Chinese military spacecraft already gather significant new radar, electrooptical imaging, and signal intelligence data globally.

During 2010, China more than doubled its military satellite launch rate to 12. This compares with three to five military missions launched each year between 2006 and 2009. Since 2006, China has launched about 30 military related spacecraft. Its total of 15 launches in 2010 set a new record for China and for the first time equaled the U.S. flight rate for a given year.

One might ask, what can Chinese satellites do?

Chinese hackers target remote conferencing gear: Dell researchers

By Joseph Menn
SAN FRANCISCO | Wed Jul 31, 2013 1:02pm EDT
(Reuters) - A Chinese hacking group tied to the breach of security company RSA two years ago has targeted a maker of audio-visual conference equipment in a likely attempt to tap into boardroom and other high-level remote meetings.

Security researchers at Dell Inc's SecureWorks unit were able to monitor the computers used by the group to process communications from machines infected with stealthy software for stealing data, according to a paper they are releasing today.

Although the researchers could not tell what information was being extracted, they were able to discover many of the companies and offices unknowingly transmitting information. The compromised computers were in five different offices of a global maker of conferencing equipment, said SecureWorks researchers Joe Stewart and Don Jackson.

"I think they were looking for the source code," Stewart told Reuters, because that would help them find flaws they could use to eavesdrop in further attacks.

And China has plans for other satellites, including GPS and commercial communications satellites; a nice space shower!

Anti-Satellite Missiles, Planes And Submarines: China As A Military Threat

According to various media reports, China is planning to test the nation’s missile defense interceptor, which can also be used as an anti-satellite (ASAT) missile.

According to the Economic Times, China is gearing up for another anti-satellite weapon test this month, probably in the next week or two. The missile could threaten American satellites, including those used for Global Positioning System (GPS) services.

In 2007, an unannounced ASAT missile test was successful and resulted in the destruction of a Chinese weather satellite, sending thousands of pieces of debris in orbit, threatening damage to other satellites in space.http://www.ibtimes.com/anti-satellite-missiles-planes-submarines-china-military-threat-1008792

1. The only thing your OP is missing is a paragraph at the end

that blames President Obama and I would have thought that it was posted by Mr. Conservative at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

However, I guess it's good to know these things so thanks for posting.

I still cannot listen to True Oldies nationally syndicated radio music online. Do you think it was a coincidence?

7. How are they going to "take" me? They DO have my number though...

Several months ago, I called an old friend, who retired at a high rank in the U.S. intelligence community, with a new cell phone that had a full charge on the battery and as I suggested that U.S. satellites might uses their technical abilities to crash the Chinese stock market, my cell phone battery was struck dead. Was it a coincidence?

You've made me paranoid now! I just had a spooky thought: Those Chinese might "beam me up" like on Star Trek!

that are advertised in those top-notch tabloids like The Globe or The National Enquirer so that your technical gadgetry doesn't go awry.

As far as my previous comment about being taken away, it might someday be possible that the Chinese will beam you up with a transporter. Or maybe you'll be raptured instead? When I wrote the comment last night though, I was actually referring to something more along the lines of the following:

Any special requests for the straight jacket (color, hypo-allergenic fabric, etc.).

In the interim, the best advice that I can offer is stop talking, writing, eating or anything else to do with China and/or the Chinese.

I'm not sure how satellites do it from so far away; but for some reason Chinese puppet satellites of the aristocracy hit my cell phone batteries regularly. I'll back down from attacks of ALL kinds against them when I read they are crashing to earth like fiery meteors.

2. Now Imagine a Threat 100 Times Greater: The USA
Thu Aug 1, 2013, 01:57 AM
Aug 2013

Imagine the fear we most invoke in other nations when they not only look at our capabilities, but also our deeds.

I think that the main reason that these kinds of stories are so influential in stoking FEAR here at home is due to our projection.

Just think... we are supposed to be the 'good guys' of the world, yet we indiscriminately nuked a totally defeated, actively negotiating terms for surrender, nation's civilian population, men & women, young & old, friend & foe alike, even reaching up into the womb across generations, and deliberately mass murder tens of thousands in order to send a message to the world of our savage terrorist intent to anyone who may ever think to oppose us... I think that has scared the shit out of us ever since.

and so it goes...

5. Here's a big difference between the two super-powers: If you wrote the same criticism...

In China, a citizen criticizing their military industrial complex online is arrested immediately. Do you remember Tienanmen Square protests where there government brought in the military - complete with tanks - to break up the protest?

BEFORE REVIEWING MY NEXT COMMENTS, I WANT TO POINT OUT THAT I PERSONALLY DO NOT ENDORSE THE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS OR WAR. A PRIMARY GOAL OF A SMALL ULTRA-WEALTHY AND POWERFUL SEGMENT OF THE POPULATION IS TO KEEP TWO SUPER-POWERS, LIKE THE U.S.A. AND CHINA IN AN ARMS RACE OR COLD-WAR TYPE CONFLICT, WHICH MAKES THEM MORE POWERFUL AND WEALTHIER, AS THEY LOAN MONEY OR SELL WEAPONS SYSTEMS TO BOTH GOVERNMENTS.

I do; however, have a strong desire to see history preserved. You might want to check the archives in my DU journal to gain more insight into my views on the subject of the use of nuclear devices. I have several images of Japanese children maimed by birth defects resulting from the Hiroshima blast. If you are considering coordinating a protest of nuclear weapons or war in general let me know. I'll start painting my sign and saving up for my ticket to Washington DC where we can begin protesting in earnest.

In regard to your comment on "nuked a totally defeated, actively negotiating terms for surrender, nation's civilian population;" do you have a link to a reliable source for that information?

In college, I read a large book and wrote a term paper on World War Two and while civilians were in Hiroshima here are some facts:

" Together with the United Kingdom and the Republic of China, the United States called for a surrender of Japan in the Potsdam Declaration on 26 July 1945, threatening Japan with "prompt and utter destruction". The Japanese government ignored this ultimatum. American airmen dropped Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, followed by Fat Man over Nagasaki on 9 August."

"At the time of its bombing, Hiroshima was a city of both industrial and military significance. A number of military camps were located nearby, including the headquarters of Field Marshal Shunroku Hata's 2nd General Army which commanded the defense of all southern Japan. Field Marshal Hata's 2nd General Army was headquartered in the Hiroshima Castle and his command consisted of some 400,000 men, most of whom were on Kyushu where an Allied invasion was correctly expected.[67] Also present in Hiroshima was the headquarters of the 5th Division, 59th Army, and most of the 224th Division, a recently formed mobile unit. The city was defended by five batteries of 7-and-8-centimetre (2.8 and 3.1 in) anti-aircraft guns of the IJA 3rd AAA Division, including units from the 121st and 122nd AA Regiments and the 22nd and 45th Separate AA Battalions.[69] In total, over 40,000 military personnel were stationed in the city."

6. With the NSA online apparently having orders to bury every OP I create...
Thu Aug 1, 2013, 01:43 PM
Aug 2013

Occasionally, I criticize the NSA online, so perhaps they have some standing order to discredit or bury every OP I create. Today, however, [recommendations courtesy of the CIA, DHS, and other elements of the NSA/CSS]instead of criticism, I will offer some recommendations:

Being an agency under direct supervision of the DoD, they might adopt the military tradition of a "Uniform of the Day."

They can ALL (male and female) wear red panties, with gold Chinese flags embroidered on their butts! That way they can show how tough they are to Chinese satellites. They must also wear super-short red skirts and bend over outside so Chinese satellites can clearly see their "real power!"

Maybe they can also find some domestic terrorist group knowingly working with our enemies to assist in discovering U.S. Top-Secrets.
