Opposition to Weiner: NOT prudery. He’s a sick, lying buffoon, & was so after the 1ST incident.

For most people, I think, it is not prudery, nor is it the result of any conspiracy, that makes him an unacceptable public servant. I believe that he is unacceptable to so many people due to his sick, embarrassing, dishonest, and buffoonish behavior. He’s also a psychologically abusive husband by virtue of repeatedly and publicly humiliating his wife. As such, he has lost the ability to engender the respect of the various constituencies he represents, or of those with whom he has to work as he fulfills his duties. Without the ability to engender respect, he lacks what it takes to be an effective public office holder.

These factors combine to make him unworthy of holding ANY public office, which has been the case since the first set of incidents was reported last year. Some people seem to discount the importance of a leader’s personal makeup, and how that affects his or her ability to lead and inspire people. A mayor, especially a mayor of a major city such as New York, has to represent his or her city when wooing new businesses, when retaining existing businesses, when trying to affect state and federal legislation, and when he or she has to rally the citizenry behind a cause. Because of his ridiculous and vile behavior, he lacks the qualities necessary to properly discharge those duties. He is a joke!

I would be totally embarrassed to have this buffoon lead my city, irrespective of his intelligence, his governmental experience, or his overall abilities. Almost nobody respects him, and by the way, he has a particularly horrible record as a member of Congress due to accomplishing very little, and due to his record of abusing other members of Congress (even those on his side of the aisle) and his aides.

It is time for him to disappear from the public spotlight.

and to learn about who stands where on the issues. Any Progressive doing so will come swiftly to the conclusion that the best candidate by leaps and bounds is Bill de Blasio.

One very good, one not too bad, and one "hold your nose in the general."

Weiner is a sideshow, not a candidate.

And she’s not just horrible b/c she’s not the most progressive…

I can live with someone not necessarily progressive. She is a real brat who cannot work with people and only negotiates for herself. And tossing NY’ers vote for term limits is absolutely unacceptable.

before i voted for her. She should in no way be rewarded for giving him a third term. You do not override people's votes. Period.

was fun for viewers but it's all he can do. Unfortunately his deep insecurity issues led him to never grow up. He's just not mature enough to be Mayor.

i don't think he is abusive to his wife, i think his insecurity issues are so deep he was desperate
if he had a useless congressional record he would still be better than quinn
if he lied about his embarrassing stuff, i can live with that

Even his lie was juvenile. He clearly never grew up, which means he cannot negotiate with adults. And adults in this town fight over billions of dollars, and a showmanship tantrum on tv isn’t going to get you shit.

I seriously cannot believe this man cannot even get an adult haircut. I mean come the fuck on. that's bad. He fights getting help every step of the way so he's "stuck in adolescence" as the daily news so aptly put it.

and that's the problem with weiner. Look at the way spitzer behaves. Say what you will but the man is an adult. Weiner on the other hand, is not.

Issue 1: he cheated on his wife. Twice. Not cool.

Issue 2: He repeated his weenie antics after he was caught and list his seat in Congress. This shows he has poor self-control and poor judgment.
