Will Obama nominating Larry Summers be the last straw for you?

Cenk said that ir would be it for him ...

I can't stand Larry Summers ...If you read his Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Summers (He doesnt believe in Global Warming, thinks men are smarter, thinks deregulation is good, thinks the developing world in underpolluted )- you begin to wonder why isn't this guy a Republican?

Please remind me - Why is Obama FURIOUSLY batting for this jerk ? ....

If Obama names him - That will be it for me ... How will it be for you

He's the President, not your boyfriend. That will be true regardless of whom he nominates.

Same folks ... about to reach "the last straw" ... again.

I like the ones for whom something that didn't actually happen, but that many keep predicting will happen, was "the last straw".

"President Obama told House Democrats on Wednesday that he thinks former Treasury secretary Larry Summers -- who has emerged as a front-runner to become the next Federal Reserve chairman -- isn't being given a fair shot by some Democrats.

House Democrats who participated in a private meeting with Obama on Capitol Hill on Wednesday told reporters that Obama made the defense of Summers after Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., criticized Summers during the meeting.

"He took a minute to stand up for Larry Summers," said Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif."

<snip>

"White House spokesman Jay Carney later said that the president felt obligated to defend Summers, who was a key member of the president's economic team.

"Larry Summers' service here was extremely helpful to the president," Carney said."

It's still partisan. You still can't campaign against Democrats.

You could always criticize them.

About DU:

After more than a decade online, Democratic Underground still hosts the most active liberal discussion board on the Internet. We are an independent website funded by member subscriptions and advertising, and we have no affiliation with the Democratic Party.

TOS:

Winning elections is important — therefore, advocating in favor of Republican nominees or in favor of third-party spoiler candidates that could split the vote and throw an election to our conservative opponents is never permitted on Democratic Underground. But that does not mean that DU members are required to always be completely supportive of Democrats. During the ups-and-downs of politics and policy-making, it is perfectly normal to have mixed feelings about the Democratic officials we worked hard to help elect. When we are not in the heat of election season, members are permitted to post strong criticism or disappointment with our Democratic elected officials, or to express ambivalence about voting for them.

I know that many think it's always "election season," but that's not reality. As for Obama, as a lame duck, there will be no "election season."

That's what makes it mildly democratic; allowing some voices you don't agree with. At least, outside the election arena, anyway.

answered this question here last week. But I'll answer it again. I ran out of straws for Obama in 2009. I never had many to begin with; I lost a bunch when he started making appointments to his Cabinet in '08, and those left didn't last his first year.
