Michele Catalano:
We found out through the Suffolk Police Department that the searches involved also things my husband looked up at his old job. We were not made aware of this at the time of questioning and were led to believe it was solely from searches from within our house.
I did not lie or make it up. I wrote the piece with the information that was given. What was withheld from us obviously could not be a part of a story I wrote based on what happened yesterday.
The piece I wrote was the story as we knew it with the information we were told. None of it was fabricated. If you know me, you know I would never do that.
If it was misleading, just know that my intention was the truth. And that was what I knew as the truth until about ten minutes ago. That there were other circumstances involved was something we all were unaware of.
Thank you.

(22,541 posts)It wasn't even accurate on its own facts so we sure as hell couldn't use it to prove anything else.
Did she get her husband's name right? I'm down to fact checking even that.

(116,464 posts)OMG. The title was changed after several conflicting updates and tweets from the person making the claim trying to justify the claim, and after several comments linked to the debunk. Of course, it's impossible to update the diary with the admission because it would spotlight the crazy.
It's. Friggin. Embarrassing.

(31,706 posts)...was around 1987. An employer installed a new phone system that had a printer attached that printed out a report of all calls made by office phones. The boss was able to constantly monitor who was calling whom and for how long they were talking. Didn't take long to figure out who was calling where. He then fired an employee he caught making calls to prospective employers while on the job and used the phone log as justification in the termination of another. He had the right to do so since those were "his" or the company's phones...the calls weren't private.
Fast forward to 2002 and at another business an employee was fired for using his computer for purposes other than company related. That boss was able to get a list of the history from the computer's cache and use the results as justification for that termination. Corporate data mining isn't new and once again proves that once you leave your own four walls...be it physically or electronically, you have few, if any, privacy rights...
Cheers...

(27,670 posts)I didn't even bother researching those Catalano threads; they smelled like woo on the surface.
However, I knew Clapper was lying as soon as I discovered that he was Chief of Security for the Carlyle Group appointed by Bush to be Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
IMO, Obama has made some very serious mistakes in appointing republicans to high level positions, and in not rooting out and replacing all republicans who were nominated and appointed by Bush.

Conservatives are simply dishonest by nature.
"Why did you kill me after I was nice to you and carried you across the river, and saved your life?', said the frog to the scorpion, with his last breath.
"Because it is my nature" replied the scorpion as the frog died.
If you play with scorpions, you are going to get stung.
topic but I'm tired of crap you and people like you post Zorra. Obama isn't making mistakes with the people he is appointing ok? He isn't accidentally signing off. He deliberately and intentional is continuing Bush policies. Did he accidentally forget to prosecute bankers? Did he accidentally ok droning innocent people in N. Africa and the M.E.? Accidentally forcing more regime change in the M.E. while one of the worst and most oppressive nations (S.A.) over there are still considered our best friends? I can go on and on.
He mistakenly appointed Clapper? Nope, eyes wide open he knows exactly what he is doing. Bush or Obama, why are the same players surrounding them? Any ideas??
