they never hit one another.

But do not board a bus in a rural area.

Unlike the loud-honking auto horns we're familiar with, this one emits a gentle beep. It's used not in anger, but as a courtesy and warning for motorcycle/bicycle/cyclo drivers. With a few beeps, the smaller vehicles will move out of the way and allow a vehicle to pass.

(specifically Yogyakarta on Java and Denpasar, Kuta, and Ubud on Bali) are even worse. Narrower streets, the same number of motorbikes, and more cars in the case of Yogya and Denpasar, one lane roads in Kuta and Ubud! Hotels and merchants have staff who stand at the driveway with traffic wands to walk out into the road and stop traffic so you can cross or pull your car out into the traffic. It is insane!

Told by locals just to walk across the street at a slow and steady gait and I'd be fine. I never quite believed it.

I've watched enough Russian traffic cams so that this vid. looks like a walk in the park.

I don't do that with my bicycle, much less an electric scooter like he has.

Just ONE car moves over just an inch too far or opens a door, and splat.
