CBS said in a statement that "as soon as CBS is restored on Time Warner Cable systems in affected markets, that content will be accessible again." A Time Warner Cable spokeswoman declined to comment.

If you have Time Warner Cable, and try to see online CBS site, there is a big sign for you:

(14,061 posts)T-W was the cable provider where I used to live, and it was always getting into rate fights with local affiliates and threatening blackouts, which always seemed to be magically resolved at the 11th hour. But once we didn't have NBC for almost a month because the station and T-W couldn't come to an agreement. And I didn't appreciate as a subscriber being put into the position of being told by both sides to pressure each other to come to some kind of settlement.
Supposedly adults run these companies. They should act like it.

(62,406 posts)I think these guys basically collude to set prices and keep the airwaves corporate very friendly.
I told one supervisor at dish the other night that if there were real competition in this country you wouldn't get away with this shit.

(51,666 posts)I cannot watch CBS videos online! What's really funny is I had no idea I could prior to today. I watch Hulu and PBS and some shady documentary sites, but had no idea CBS shows were available for free online, lol.
Now I'm bummed. Major corporations suck, that's obvious.

(1,979 posts)and asking for a credit on my account. If you are paying for a monthly cable package that includes CBS, then you are entitled to CBS. If you are a regular viewer, then you are entitled to a credit IMO. Maybe if enough people demanded to get what they paid for, the cable company would be reasonable. It's a damn shame that you even have to pay to watch NBC, ABC and CBS - it used to be free.
Until people stand up and say NO MORE, we will continue to be abused by big corporations such as this. Personally, I don't let them get away with anything. If my cable or internet is out for one day, I'm on the phone with them. With what they charge a month for watching television and using the internet, I want what I pay for. This happened in Memphis when I lived there a year or so ago and I made them give me a credit for every day I could not watch the food network

(60,010 posts)by telling them you had a better offer from a competitor
or
by telling them you have to drop cable/Dish/phne....whatever because the bill is too high now.
I got DISH to give 10.00 a month off my account with them doing that
and the telephone company dropped 15.00 a month off my dsl/landline package.
You have to sound sincere, and it often helps if you tell them that your spouse ( they don't know if you have a spouse or not)
wants to change carriers cause the bill is too high, but you don't want to, can they help work something out.
They will offer a low discount, you hem and haw, etc.
Worked for me for years. Cable/phone etc companies are losing tons of customers, they will go the extra mile to keep you.
