Zimmerman's brother claims family gets 400 death threats a MINUTE and that a Starbucks employee told him 'they'd beat the s*** out of him'
George Zimmerman's brother today revealed their family receive as many as 400 death threats a minute on social media sites and said he almost got beaten up by two Starbucks' employees.
Three weeks after his brother was acquitted of all charges relating to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, Robert Zimmerman reveals for the first time the psychological impact it has had on the family - who live under constant fear and have to keep in touch 24/7.
'No one has really asked us to get into the psychological aspect of this,' he said. 'You dont know if some one stops you in public and says, "excuse me sir", you dont know if you dropped your wallet or if someone recognizes you and wants to kill you.
Zimmerman said the threats sometimes average 400 per minute.
Speaking about a time he was threatened in a Starbucks in Washington DC, he explains: 'Someone thought I was George Zimmerman. I said, no, George is in jail. They started saying, "we know youre Zimmerman; its right here on the receipt..."
'They pulled out their phones and started texting people and calling people. Someone finally noticed the receipt said Robert instead of George, or R instead of G, and they said "Oh, its not George Zimmerman" and they all calmed down.
'Someone then said "Yeah, but you look like that Mother f***er and if you were anyone of the Zimmermans we were going to take you outside and beat the sh*t out of you." They were both Starbucks employees.
Sorry, Zimmerman. When you can so blatantly lie about one thing (400 death threats/minute?) you are not believable about other things. I hope your brother never knows a minute of peace for the rest of his pitiful life. And if you and the rest of your family is suffering, there are counselors for that sort of thing. Instead of blaming others, grow up and take some action to help yourself.

(26,260 posts)Karma is a powerful force. I'm a firm believer that nobody ever really gets away with anything. Sometimes the fear of something happening is far more destructive than what is being feared.

This should wear out soon enough...Zimmerman and company will need a second act....they need the comfort and support to sustain the new found following.

When does Zimmie and the wife go to court for their lies about their finances and his 'other' passport? I'd google it but since he'll probably skate on that too, I don't think its worth the trouble.

(11,101 posts)Even if it's someone you loathe. I realize that most of that comes from the frustration of what appears to be an injustice, must morality and justice should not bend to accommodate one's personal list of bad people. It would not be "okay" if someone murdered George Zimmerman. It would not be "okay" if the guards shot Charles Manson in his cell. It's not "okay" for someone convicted of something horrible to be raped in prison. Not that this is anything new at DU "I am totally opposed to capital punishment... except for Mike Vick. Fuck him. I want him to watch him being ripped apart by wild dogs". Etc. Etc. For any particular bad guy, you will see a mob rise up here just like anywhere else.

(69,014 posts)And then there's the simple delight of karma. That's when something truly awful happens to someone who's done something truly awful. For instance, if Jamie Dimon were eaten by wolves, I would contribute to a defense fund for the wolves and mourn that he couldn't have simply fallen into a vat of acid.
Me I don't threaten what I can't deliver which isn't much. So, no death threats.
But damned if I won't rejoice when pure scum gets his.

Better tie your shoe before you fall, your tie is crooked, you're going to poke your eye out with that are all threats in their world.

Fuck off Zimmerman - you merely face threats - George murdered Trayvon Martin and nothing any of you say or do will change that fact. I will never have one drop of sympathy for any of them.

Apparently from people who can't tell a female from a male voice (most people reliably can most of the time).
And who simply refused to believe her when told that she wasn't GZ, didn't know GZ, and they had a wrong number. They'd continue with their death threats.
Scum.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall and listen to what that family has to say to each other, bet there's lots of crazy talk going on. I posted that we'd be hearing from G. Zimmerman again and already we have. He was stopped for speeding in Texas carrying a loaded gun. Stay tuned, there will be more.

(5,756 posts)Beaten up by two Starbucks employees? Are you kidding me? What, were they wearing hoodies? Have you looked at the average Starbucks employee? Not very threatening from what I've seen. But maybe it's a family genetic trait to be afraid of other people for no good reason.
tblue
(16,350 posts)I don't know how many threats they actually get. Do they sit there and tally every one every minute? Can you say, "new phone number"?
These clods sure love attention. And now they want our sympathy? Um, no. If they'd shown a modicum of humility and human kindness, toward Trayvon's memory and his family, maybe they wouldn't have so many people hating on them. I'm sure the whole Z Klan is packing heat all the time now anyway, just itching for their own Shootout at the OK Corral. So pardon me if I don't give a damn about you and your no-good brother, Robert.

(37,573 posts)boy, I can hardly wait to apply this rationale to other cases.
Is Sandra Fluke receiving death threats? Then I can just tell her
"if you and the rest of your family is suffering, there are counselors for that sort of thing. Instead of blaming others, grow up and take some action to help yourself."
Is Gleen Greenwald getting death threats?
"if you and the rest of your family is suffering, there are counselors for that sort of thing. Instead of blaming others, grow up and take some action to help yourself."
Is Bernie Sanders getting death threats?

Rachel Maddow?

Eugene Robinson?
"if you and the rest of your family is suffering, there are counselors for that sort of thing. Instead of blaming others, grow up and take some action to help yourself."
Trayvon Martin's parents?
"if you and the rest of your family is suffering, there are counselors for that sort of thing. Instead of blaming others, grow up and take some action to help yourself."
Wheeee, this is fun. All power to the violent a$$holes who make death threats!!!

(37,573 posts)"you or your family" refers to Robert and his parents.
If it is okay, or we can shrug off death threats to Robert Zimmerman and tell him to stop complaining, grow up, and get counselling. Then surely we can tell the same thing to any of those people I mentioned if they get death threats.

Sure he got away with murder but the people can still punish him by ostracizing him, his family and supporters and treating him like the murder he is.
