Snowdens Laptops

There has been a good deal of discussion on here about the laptops Edward Snowden supposedly took with him with all of the NSA's secrets loaded in them. Somehow everyone seems to assume his laptops are the same as the Dell or Apple they use every day.

Has it ever occurred to you he might just have gotten his laptops from THIS WOMAN?

No, of course not! Because nobody here ever watched "24"!!!!

... Snowden was trained by both C.I.A. and N.S.A. to be a master hacker. This is real, not fiction. It is probably a safe bet he built his own laptops. Who knows what is in there!

He apparently didn't understand what a secure FTP server is nor how they were used to transfer legitimately obtained data to NSA.

He didn't think through his escape plan. He gave up his fiance and has never said another word about her.

You think he's a 'master hacker' yet he was unable to breach security to obtain personal data to buttress his claims.

Whatever else Mr. Snowden may be, 'talented' is not it, IMO.

the fact that Mr. Snowden is still breathing is a tribute to his tradecraft.

Not trying to contradict you, just pointing out there is some info that led me to that conclusion...

<snip>

More details about the mysterious past of Edward Snowden, the former contractor for the National Security Agency who leaked details about the agency's surveillance program, are starting to emerge.

Snowden, who is reportedly currently holed up in an airport in Moscow, was taught all he needed to know about hacking while he was working for the NSA, according to The New York Times. And those are the very skills that he would have needed in order to snoop into the records that he accessed.

His resume, which hasn't been made public but was described to the Times by people who have seen it, touted his training in a course for "certified ethical hackers." A certified ethical hacker is a professional certification handed out by the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) for those who are trained to detect vulnerabilities in organizations' systems using the same knowledge and tools as a hacker.

These details reveal just the sort of skills that the NSA is desperate for when it comes to new recruits -- but they're also the very skills that put it at risk. "

but took the course..I even know the organization that do the e-learning for that course, he didn't work at NSA for long..only about 8 weeks...long enough to steal powerpoint files from a server which requires not hacking...all he would had to do is get the study guide to be be able to skate through an exam...that's what a lot of tech people do..he did not get his training from NSA, but got on the job training from CIA

Of course I think any interest in his girlfriend is stupid, but it may help you to know he misses her.

You keep spamming threads with this claim about secure FTP, so I'll ask one more time.

What are you basing this on?

Do you have a link or a source for this?

Because 4 laptops just sounds stupid. Seriously 4 laptops to grab a bunch of Power point presentations?! The deniers have assured me that Snowden doesn't have anything else.

... and I barely know how to use the web. I remember when morse code was a requirement for a ham license. However, I doubt that an international manhunt/forcing down Bolivian Prez's plane/threatening to boycott meeting with Putin would be happening if there was no intel of consequence in Snowdens possession.
