Iowa father delivers threatening letter to woman his son allegedly raped

On July 27, the victim’s daughter found a threatening letter taped to their apartment door. In the letter, Ronnau warned “all hell will break loose” if the victim is dating another man.

“I don’t care how long it takes for me to get out. You don’t want to know how or what I will do if I find out you’ve been with another man,” he wrote.

Police said Ronnau’s father delivered the letter, but was not aware of its contents.

Ronnau faces a life in prison and is being held in jail on $1 million bond.

And the father should have known better than to deliver communications to her directly.

3. They've charged him with first-degree harassment for this.

This is in addition to the first-degree kidnapping and second-degree sexual abuse charges he was already being charged with. He's in jail because he can't come up with the $1M bail money.

4. Good. I still think witness intimidation applies, and it probably

carries a heftier penalty. He needs a minimum of 30 years, IMHO. Not sure what he is actually subject to.
