Russia Expects Continuity In Iran Cooperation After Rouhani’s Election

4/08/2013 RIA Novosti

Moscow hopes for continuity in Russia-Iran cooperation after the election of Hassan Rouhani as the Islamic Republic’s new president, Russian parliament speaker Sergei Naryshkin said Sunday.

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameini, formally endorsed Rouhani as the Islamic Republic’s new president on Saturday in a ceremony attended by senior Iranian officials, including outgoing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Rouhani, a moderate cleric who won the presidential election in June, is to take the oath of office in Iran's parliament Sunday.

“We expect continuity in relations, continuity in developing cooperation [between Moscow and Tehran]. We noted Rouhani’s statement about Iran’s readiness for greater openness in talks with the six world powers [Russia, the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom and Germany] on the Iran nuclear issue,” Naryshkin said after his talks with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani.

He was the most reasonable guy that the ulema allowed on the ballot, not the most reasonable guy that wanted to run for the Presidency.

Those Russians have been building Bushir since Shah was in power. I believe they used it as an excuse to put their operatives on the ground in Iran. Hell, I think a crew of sixth grade dropouts could get further on that project than they've gotten to this point.

be kidding me? You trying to claim the Iranians are not smart enough to build anything?
Yet some people are afraid they might be intelligent enough to build a nuclear arsenal.

So I see the Russians had a delegation to this man's swearing in? It seems to me the Russians have better relations with Iran than certain other Powers. They also sold the Iranians a few submarines, that were rated the quietest in the World. It appears Iran has took that knowledge and built more submarines near that size, and has an unknown number of them. These are not mini subs either. Iran is becoming more and more of a threat while these countries keep talking about nuclear bombs, they are making clear advances and building up their convential forces. They have become very effiecient and building their own Military Industry. There is even claims they have managed to rehaul those American planes with parts from their own Industry. They have also been trading with Venezuela, concerning military parts.

Then you need to pry those eyes of yours OPEN and read what I actually wrote, not what you're "ass-uming."

The Iranians aren't building anything I'm talking about.

THE RUSSIANS are building Bushir, and they have been since BEFORE the Revolution. How do I know this? I met a bunch of 'em in a bar in Esfahan in the seventies. They were annoying.

Now go back and try again--or don't.

I really don't care...you sound like you're just spoiling for a fight and don't give a damn about little things like facts, like the fact that the Russians are building that damn facility at Bushir.

Nice day, go have one.
