Doubtless, you've seen the above bumper sticker, or something slight variation, if you (as I do) live in an area with a strong gun-culture identity. Many of these are being given away as gifts to folks buying NRA memberships. In my part of the world, I see several per day when I'm out driving.
The bumper sticker, from a propaganda viewpoint, has several things going for it. It's short; it's simple; and the phrase "stand and fight" feeds into the 2nd amendment narrative of patriots using firearms to defend their freedom.
My question to the collective DU: Suppose you had to write an anti-NRA bumper sticker. What would it say?
Please post your answer as a reply in the thread. Write whatever you want, but I'd point out two things (JMHO - YMMV):
1) F**k the NRA! might be satisfying to write, but consider that it will offend a certain number of people (and thus disconnect them from your message); could cause legal problems for those putting it on their cars; and might cause problems with employers.
2) The more words you put on a bumper sticker, the smaller the words are, and the harder it is to read.

NOTE: I do not recommend applying this bumper sticker to your car. Really.

(15,359 posts)He was passing through Kansas City on his way back to Washington DC. We were known for our Andy Kaufman-esque pranks in both high school and college. After telling me about how his dad had to stop wearing his NRA hat because it kept attracting crazies who thought he was as crazy as they were, we came up with the idea of putting Obama hat pins/campaign buttons on an NRA hat just to confuse the hell out of everyone.
I've already placed my orders.

Plus odds are the pro NRA dude has got a gun in his car.
