Because I see many identifying themselves as "the left" also supporting politicians and policies that are distinctly NOT left.

How many are there, really, on the left in the U.S. willing to fight? Enough to make a difference?

To them, Republicans were Bush and the Neocons lying us into a war.

But then, after Nixon there were people who claimed the Republican Party was dead,...and it was only four years later when the Republicans were in power for the following 12 years.

On the bright side, the Internet has made Republican lies harder to believe.
