Florida man bitten by shark also struck by lightning, bitten by rattlesnake
Florida man Erik Norrie may be both the luckiest and unluckiest man alive he's been struck by lightning, bitten by a rattlesnake, punched by monkeys and, most recently, attacked by a shark while snorkeling in the Bahamas, he told a Tampa TV station.
Norrie was spearfishing on July 29 when a shark came up behind him and took a chunk out of the back of his leg, according to MyFOXTampaBay.com. Norrie's father-in-law jumped in between him and the shark and helped him get to the shore where a doctor from San Diego happened to be vacationing.
Norrie used large rubber bands from his spear to create a tourniquet and keep to stop the blood from gushing from his fresh wound.
Norrie, who is from Largo, was ultimately taken to Tampa General Hospital for multiple skin graft surgeries. Norrie is in good spirits and has already been able to stand.

(65,616 posts)I dunno if I would rate getting bit by a rattler and punched by a monkey as the same as a shark attack and even those three would not compare to a lightning strike in my book.
He has some unusually bad luck it seems.

I've got to find some way to us 'punched by monkeys' in an every day sentence...that's just too much comedy gold to pass up!

(34,582 posts)had a fake Nolan Ryan character, and they would trot out a story about his war against the Snow Monkeys. This was after Ryan was named an honorable game warden, and we had some Snow Monkeys that escaped into the Texas wild. He went to check them out and they threw stuff at him. A site called unticket should have this radio gold.

(34,582 posts)The Ticket had Nolan on after he purchased the Rangers, and he knew of the fake Nolan. His explanation of the real event was almost as funny as the fake one.

(5,842 posts)I guess I can feasibly see somone putting themselves in a situation where over various points in their life they could be hit by lightning, and bit by a rattlesnake and shark.
But you really have to wonder about what one is doing where the end result is geting punched by a monkey. Unfortunately, none of the links I found offer a back story to that incident.
