... Bravo Mr. President for making it easier for middle class families to buy a home, on the off chance we still have a middle class despite you ignoring wages and focusing solely on income from Capital.

Without the income, it doesn't matter how much red tape there is or how much you save on refinance or how easy the forms are. These goal are all great and will encourage home ownership, but are not sufficient or necessary for a significant change in ownership.

If salaries can't be improved, then cheaper homes could be a foundation for more ownership. However you look at it the key is for the middle class to be able to pay the mortgage every month (along with home maintenance costs, utilities, insurance, cars, food, medical expenses, etc) for a very long time (up to 30 years).

... banks were saved from making deliberately bad decisions, and passed out record bonus to their execs, with help from taxpayers.

Home owners hoodwinked into buying decisions, rife with hidden clauses banks added to screw the consumer, were not helped, and apparently have to live with "their" decisions.

If Obama gets any more supply-side, I'm going to start calling him Jack Kemp.

WTF, Mr. President????
