Whether you support OR oppose her, or don't care in particular, do you think she'd be the same sort of candidate next time that she was last time?
Corollary question: what was your feeling about her last time...good, bad, or neutral?

(23,671 posts)It beat her in 08, and you dont really have to follow through on those promises once in office.

(8,846 posts)Out of 8 choices before the primaries in '08, I had her dead-last in preference. Just behind # 7, Obama.
However, they both moved up a notch after I spent an hour talking to Chris Dodd. Dumber than a box of rocks.

(80,708 posts)However it is fascinating that here we are more than 2 years out, and many of her supporters have already started on with the erstwhile ham-fisted "inevitability" arguments that worked so well last time.

(50,254 posts)I don't regard her as inevitable in the slightest.

(80,708 posts)I just think some of the more, er, enthusiastic Hillary people don't realize just how off-putting that shit is.

(50,254 posts)She may not have a sense of entitlement, but some of her backers here sure as hell do. You get the feeling some of them think we shouldn't even HAVE primaries...that she should just be handed the thing without a word.

(15,859 posts)Every change in stance would be thrown in her face the entire campaign.

(82,333 posts)Basic dialectics.
After 8 years of slinging rightwing obstructive horsehit, the most effective counter is straightforward progressive ideas which, after all, are simple common sense.
The only way to deal with them is to fight back, not to seek a chimerical compromise.

(9,610 posts)Because NOBODY moves left in this country anymore.
Edit - Or she sells us a progressive bag of shite similar to the last "Change" platform and then once in office goes right.

(36,102 posts)Her biggest campaign battle was vs Obama
There probably won't be any GOPers with her brand recognition, so she should be able to basically phone it in

(20,827 posts)She fell behind Obama because it took a surprising long time for Hillary the candidate to figure out how she was going to market herself to voters. Why was she running, what was she going to do, how was she different than Obama etc...
Most people that followed the race thought Hillary really hit her stride about midway through the year and perhaps would have beat Obama had candidate Hillary started the campaign with a more focused message than she did. I think Hillary will not forget the lessons of 2008 and will be vastly more polished entering the race.
