Remember that in 2007, Abe Shinzo himself admitted that Japan should have surrendered when defeat was inevitable, and (in his own words) that would have saved not only the firebombing of Tokyo, but of other areas and Hiroshima and Nagasaki themselves.

That is a statement of fact (though paraphrased), and came from the Japanese government itself.

So THE JAPANESE THEMSELVES admit that they knew defeat was inevitable and dragged it out anyway. You know - massacring Manila, and such.

They weren't going to surrender until they were treated as harshly as they treated others since WELL before WWII.They chose war, and they got it.
