Been wondering...

...do you think the CIA our our U.S. Embassy staff(which are pretty much the same thing, in most of our embassies, from what I've heard) will start spreading rumors around Moscow that Snowden is gay?

If they really wanted to get rid of the guy, that'd be the easiest way to make it happen.

Russia, too...

Those authoritarian regimes often fly by the "Do as I say, not as i do" rule. Their attitude likely is "Let 'em roll, we'll use it against them if we have a need; otherwise, never mind."

That law is more about controlling societal public behavior than anything else. They don't want any of that same-sex hand-holding or kissing in the streets.
