My wife is going to get Health insurance with the company she is with BUT it is STARBRIDGE

She had Starbridge once before and she couldn't find any doctors in town who would take it except for one doctor who basically just looked at my wife told her to lose weight--Had the doctor bother to really care about her he might have caught her Hernia before it got as bad as it did and kept her from emergency surgery.

My question is with the ACA does she has to take this insurance or can she go through the exchanged and get some better coverage.

It looks from what we are seeing. My wife is going to making all the payments and her workplace doesn't pay into it.

IF she can't go with another company than with the ACA will she have more options for a doctor?

Does the Company offer coverage? Indianademocrat91 Aug 2013 #1
Yeah! So if the coverage is deemed "worthy enough" she is screwed on finding a doctor. diabeticman Aug 2013 #2

With new rules there are a lot of variables. She can always go into the exchange. however, If her company offers coverage and it is deemed good by the insurance regulators etc. and meets thresholds stipulated in the law then she would not get any federal govt help in paying for the exchange premiums.

You will always be allowed to go into the exchange during the open enrollment period and get coverage. However, you might not get the credits toward your premium if her company offers coverage.

This is all subject to change, but that is my understanding of it now.

Hope this helps.
