David Graeber wrote a an excellent piece about the history of revolutions, a key point being:

(60,010 posts)But, isn't it interesting to see the pattern of protests as they spread over the globe in the last few years.
I think lots of people of DU today were too young to remember how 1964/ 1968 felt, and the years following when the mass protests did not stop. One incident after another triggered more and more people to speak out and demonstrate.
That is what I am seeing from the time elapse at the site.
