The median home value in that area probably approaches $1m.

By saying it was an Atlanta high school, my first thought was it was inner city. But then when I saw the pictures and saw the Atlanta skyline was some distance away, I thought, no way was this in a predominately minority area. Now you saying this is in the wealthiest neighborhoods, I guess answers my question. An upscale high school for the privileged few. I wonder how much of that $147 Million could have been spent improving inner city schools or hiring a few more teachers.

How many students is this thing supposed to hold? I would think you could build 7-8 high schools for the same or less money.

If this is just a regular thousand student HS and will be filled with wealthy students, the taxpayers should throw whoever is responsible out on their asses, especially because I'm quite sure schools in poorer neighborhoods are probably grossly neglected.
