Help: Pre-existing conduction and ACA and insurance offer by employer.

1) How do we find out if the insurance offered by my wife's new employer meets ACA approval.

2) When would be a good time for my wife to apply for the insurance since she is considered a person with a pre-existing conduction. about 2 and 1/2 years ago my wife had emergency surgery and while recovering in the hospital she contracted Fungal Pneumonia and nearly died. It did leave her lungs weak. She is off oxygen and back to work BUT she finds she needs an inhaler at times and she gets sick quickly + has had pneumonia twice and each time had to use nebulizing medicine.

The last insurance she signed up for she tired to use her insurance card and they wouldn't pay for her visit or medicine saying the pneumonia was a pre-existing conduction.

I'm really concern how this is all going to come together. My insurance alone takes $400.00 each month from our monthly income alone. My wife is looking at what the company offers and in order for her to get something of coverage would be an additional $200.00 or so more from our income pushing us further into the hole. there are months where my wife and I live on Peanut butter sandwiches.

I wouldn't mind that IF I knew my wife was going to have better coverage than she did last time she had this insurance company they didn't do much for coverage. Only ONE doctor would take the insurance and he was too busy telling her she's too fat that he missed the signs of her hernia that nearly killed her 6 months later.

The insurance is starbridge. The company she is with gave her 4 options to the coverage. To get semi good coverage (at least what I believe would be.) is going to take $50 a week from her paycheck.
