It doesn't make any difference if it's a person or a pet in surgery

Time seems to go so slooooooow while waiting.

My wife took two cats (Sylvester & Smokey 2 yrs. old?), that we took in a couple of weeks ago, to the vet today to get neutered. They had to be there between 7:30-8:30 this morning and can't be picked up until 6:30PM.

We took those two in plus a momma and 3 babies(about 2-3 months old) even though we said a couple of years ago, that after about 30 years we would quit because of age and health issues. But the family next door was going to take them to an abandoned farm and dump them. These cats had been, although outside cats, had been fed by the neighbor, us and another neighbor since they showed up. The kittens were born at their house, in their backyard. Their reasoning was that since they were 'outside' cats they would be able to fend for themselves. We had quite a dust-up over it and now they're mad at us.

There was no room at the Humane Society or at the animal shelter (like that was ever an option).

We're not keeping all the cats, my brother is taking Sylvester & Smokey and we have some nibbles for some of the others.

The story about the new cats is HERE

As a warning(?) that is a link to my blog and I only post it because the story is long and has a few pictures and some back history. It was how I felt at the time and it's not a what we did for them or they did they did for us thing. I just had to put something down no matter how it sounded. It doesn't have the whole story and may be a bit disjointed but that's how it came out.

I will not make a habit of it. I hate spam too.

If I could walk I'd be pacing the floor. As it is I get to ramble on and on here. The vet said the would call if anything went wrong so I guess this an instance of 'no news is good news'.

They should be home by 7:30 or so.

A cat, BB(Butter Brickle) is telling me it's time to eat so I suppose I should get busy.

I'll check back in later. Probably after the boys get home.

They are just being neutered. You'd hate me. I always keep my neuters overnight, lol. kestrel91316 Aug 2013 #1
