So this MAJOR pharmaceutical company must have determined that they under paid on a claim. The patient is obviously due a refund.
The Pharma co. cuts a check, includes a letter, and mails it to the patient in an envelope.
The nice little old lady in Kansas gets the check. She didn't pay for the meds so she mails it to the place I work, a charity that assists with specific meds for specific diagnoses.
I got the check today and entered it against her account. We will have to deposit the check and account for it when we balance our checking account next month.
The check was for $0.04
No kidding. True story. We were laughing about it when one of my co-workers says, "And I have to drive it to the bank!!!"

(182,632 posts)I won't mention them by name but they have "re-calculated" claims from the beginning of the year and are sending out $48.~~ checks all over the place. We are getting 8- 12 phone calls a day.
I know they have figured it wrong - I process Med D claims all day and the numbers are right enough not to worry about $48. Oh well they have a computer that I guess just can't be wrong.
