that specifically prohibits no-knock warrants and the states approve it.

Until then, we're the enemy and they don't honestly care that they're misreading warrants and terrorizing innocent people while trashing their houses and killing their pets.

They're getting just as bad as police in (other) totalitarian countries. They need to be reined in. Because of our corrupt supreme court, a constitutional amendment is the only thing that can do it.

Sort of like the NSA spying- as long as they aren't meaningfully censured, they see it as a green light to keep going.

The problem is that sets the policy- no matter what the law is.

The incidents in Texas of women being stripped/cavity searched in public is another good example. If those officers are still working in the department after the inquiry happens, then it's open season on vulnerable women.

Their possession.

And often, iover 10% of the time, it happens inside the huge state of California (37 million of us.)

Our dogs are killed in front of us. The doors to our homes are kicked in. The littlest of kids are thrown to the ground, as though they were armed, 40 year old bank robbers.

What sets this off? The DOJ, and ICE, and DEA and local police feel if they find one person in a neighborhood growing dope, then everyone else might be doing that. So no warrants, as your neighbor's behavior and the weather and growing season gives them "probable cause."

Maybe you aren't growing - but they can treat you as guilty of that till the matter is cleared up. There may be an apology then, but that apology won't bring your dogs back to life.

Maybe you are growing but have a valid California med marijuana grow card. Too bad, your state's rights mean nothing to these bastards.

And every single person they do arrest for growing means they are enabling violent Mexican drug cartels, which I guess is what they want.

Roy Middleton, Unarmed Florida Man, Shot By Police In Own Driveway While Retrieving Cigarettes From Car.

Florida law enforcement officials are investigating reports that an unarmed man was shot by police in his own driveway while retrieving cigarettes from his mother’s car.

Roy Middleton, a 60-year-old resident of Warrington, Fla., was shot in the leg by Escambia County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday, the Pensacola News Journal reports. The shooting reportedly took place on Middleton’s driveway, as he attempted to retrieve a cigarette from his mother’s car. That’s when police arrived on the scene, investigating a report of a possible vehicle break-in, Fox 10 reports.

I have a very sweet JRT/pit mix who is the sweetest little girl you ever met. If anyone "accidentally" broke into my house, my poor little sweetie pie, who I pulled out of the euthanasia room at the Brooklyn Animal Control center 2 hours before she was due to take the last walk, would meet a horrible end.

Edited to add--the scumbags would probably shoot my Lab too, just for shits and giggles. And they'd probably kill my 3 kitties, especially my crazy Maine Coon, just because.

home or yard.

They burst in wearing military outfits and masks, with which the family dog is totally unfamiliar and makes them look like monsters, shouting at the top of their lungs, which sounds like vicious barking and snarling to our dogs. Any dog, even a Chihuahua, loves us and feels compelled to take a stand against this invasion. Even dogs who would never bite under any circumstances, will make themselves stiff and bark the impressive, "Get out of here I am really, really, really dangerous!" bark.

BANG.

First, young Travis' body language is totally hinky, tweaked and fucked up. His fiancee was covering his ass.

Second, if six cops were trying to gain entrance (via front door, banging and hollering) there is no way they could have slept thru it. Look at that little house and tell me that you could sit in the den and not hear a fart in the yard.

I feel sorry for the dogs. Much like Driving While Black, Looking Like a Pit/Mastiff can write its own Death Certificate.

I don't imagine we will ever hear the backstory on this one.

Oh, and the reporter, "Where was she shot at?". That one just slays me.

what legal justification do the cops have to bang and holler at the front door or to climb in a window.

If Young Travis was, "totally hinky, tweaked and fucked up," in his own home it is none of your business.

The facts are: the police entered a home without a warrant and shot a dog who was cowering behind the bed. If there was any delay in getting medical attention for the dog, the cops should be charged with felony animal cruelty.
