Anybody know how long "Doonesbury" is gonna keep being "Flashbacks"?

This seems like the longest break Garry Trudeau has ever taken.

Did he retire? Is he sick? Or did he MEAN to be off for this long?

Fear not, “Doonesbury” fans, Garry Trudeau’s comic strip isn’t gone, just on hiatus. Trudeau is taking a break from writing fresh strips, but will be back right after Labor Day.

During the break he had the characters all graduate from college, depicted in the Doonesbury musical he worked on during the break. When he returned, they all had "real-world" jobs and began to age at a more real-world chronological rate.
