Just like the Webb family they probably had to get help to publicize their daughter's kidnapping.

Oh, wait, no they didn't did they.

It looks like the kidnapping of Daphne Webb was given major police efforts and local publicity when it first happened. Therewas an Amber alert issued:

The main difference, in my opinion, is that in one case people are looking for a baby who has been missing almost a month and who might be anywhere, while in the other, people are looking for a specific man and automobile involved in a crime only hours old.
