are accepted fact to most. But, he doesn't really need the US. We have dug ourselves (largely from the Bushies* misdeeds) into a hole of collective weakness on this and many fronts.

Who cares about his human rights abuses and penchant for destroying political opposition.

Don't you know he's sheltering Edward Snowden?

That more than makes up for his "shortcomings"

Don't feel too sorry for his people. His tactics may be antidemocratic, but he definitely has the consent of the people to govern.
