Need to find a new place to Rent: Looking for DU help.

I live in the New Castle PA area. Need to find another place to rent since this landlord basically is flipping out on us because HIS place is falling apart.

Our lease is up in January and I am looking to get a place line up. I am looking for a one or 2 bedroom place. I NEED All utilities included in the rental price and is pet friendly. My wife is debating on putting an ad in the paper.

We won't trust code enforcement after they said this guy we are currently renting from was a good landlord.

We are willing to pay $550 - $600 That is the most we can go.

(Cross with PA group)

Changed--"Hoping for" to Need all utilities included--

I don't know what the market is like there, but the city I live in you're not even in the ballpark. Electric Monk Aug 2013 #1

It's a thousand dollars and up for a two bedroom, and that's really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Try closer to $1,400 (edited to add: including utilities and parking) for a decent two bedroom apartment here.

You'll be directed to lots of Web sites like rent.com, apartmentfinder.com, etc. Some allow you to search within a specified price range, search all 2BRs, etc. Be aware that you will not find all apts in the area this way -- these sites charge the landlords a fee to list their site, so the cheapest apts may not be listed. Generally, you can find something within reason. Also don't forget to search within x miles, if you're willing to live outside the city.

Otherwise, contact the Chamber of Commerce in New Castle and ask if they have an apt rental guide. Same caveat applies -- landlords are buying placement, so you will find upper and moderate prices here but not necessarily cheapest.

Just checked rent.com, lots of apts in that range but not always 2BR.

ETA: Find the local paper online, and check want ads too.

within your budget. Apartments and houses. No guarantees of course, but they can be seen as leads.

By the way, there is apparently another New Castle PA, so you might have to look up the other one if this isn't where you are.

more that that for a 2 bedroom here in phoenix. are you seniors? you might qualify for subsidized housing although with this economy there probably full.
