Without it, we'd be far worse off. The ACA can be built upon to get us to National Healthcare.

What do you think that "some people" think the ACA is going to do that it is not going to do? I would like to know.

I am being trained in HBE and expanded medicaid. I have been doing medicaid for 4 years. Many of my clients and those who have come in to inquire know nothing about the law or what they think they know is wrong. Many think it is guaranteed free healthcare among other misconceptions.

But he was 51, not 65, and when his medical condition was getting worse, he had no coverage. An ambulance trip would have meant a bill that he could not afford. He and my mother demurred and he died before dawn.

My brother would have qualified for Medicaid had he lived.

Everyone needs health care. It is a basic societal need. The way it is being handled here, the way even the meager reforms of the ACA are being delayed and chipped away, is a fucking travesty.

ETA: and we DON'T need 'affordable health insurance'. We need affordable health CARE.

- we get that and the health insurance problem would disappear.
