People Worship Weeping Tree In California, Tears Are Actually Insect Excrement

http://www.buzzfeed.com/ellievhall/people-worship-weeping-tree-in-california-tears-are-actually

Snips:
"A growing number of Catholics in Fresno, California believe that a tree outside St. John's Cathedral is weeping God's tears."

"Fresno arborist Jon Reelhorn told KGPE-TV that there's a scientific explanation for the falling liquid... the excrement of insects known as aphides or tree lice."

"Despite the explanation, some parishioners remain convinced that there is something more to the tree. "They can say it's this theory, that theory, the tree does this every year, it's odd when it happens when there is bunch of people praying."

I wonder if in 200 years when 8.2% of the population is "religious" will they just keep it all to themselves for fear of massive ridicule?

intended.

Nature is sacred.

My definition of god is vast and transcends the silly anthropomorphized coffin we tend to put god into.

People who want to believe in miracles will usually find one even if it defies logic and scientific explanations.

there will either be a bunch of people with a crisis of faith or waiting for a miracle for it to rise again. Really, people can be so myopic.
