Video captures Florida sinkhole destroying building

"I was in the tub when the 'boom' went off and the tub literally popped up and came down," Debbie Ward told MyFoxOrlando.com. She thought it was an earthquake and got out of the tub, and could "hear the cracking and the ceiling and glass breaking and we decided to get out as soon as possible."

an engineering firm to drill, they are making various very loud banging sounds and using odd-looking equipment all over her property in order to see if we had any lurking sinkhole event horizons.
So - far - nope! Our little area (south of Brandon, Fl.) shows no sinkhole activity on the .gov Big Scary Map of Sinkholes, she knew that, but figured she would sleep better. Don't know how much it is costing her, but she will be sharing the results with the neighborhood and we all will sleep better.
Evidently all we need to worry about is the sloppy drainage for rain and pool backwashing that the various builders slapped into place. And maybe the builders economized a wee bit on rebar for lanai construction.
Also, some builders had a tricksy little way of dumping fill dirt over construction debris and that will settle eventually, and scare the crap out of ya. We also have a few protected turtles that dig tunnels that collapse; I think people are just luring them to other yards with trails of organic veggies - because it says on the internet if you even pick one up, a black helicopter will swoop down and make you very very sorry.

So - I can sleep a bit better and just go back to worrying about all the houses around me being bought up by giant companies who want to foist third party HOA management on us because HOA fees are deductible as a business expense to those fuckers, but not for me.
