"CNN projects that Newark Mayor Cory Booker will win the Democratic primary and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan will win the Republican primary in a New Jersey race for the U.S. Senate.

Booker and Lonegan will face off on October 16 to fill the vacancy created by Sen. Frank Lautenberg's death on June 3. The term ends in January 2015.
