Weird story about a baby panda bear.

Tell me this is just a really bad translation.

(It's worth clicking on the link just to see the adorable cub.)

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/08/13/panda-cub-reunited-with-its-mother-at-taiwan-zoo/

Taiwan’s first newborn panda was reunited Tuesday with its mother for the first time since it was taken away after birth, in a heartwarming reunion that saw the giant panda licking and cuddling her baby inside a cage.

Zookeepers in Taipei had to separate tiny Yuan Zai from its mother, Yuan Yuan, last month, to be raised in an incubator as the cub needed care and round-the-clock monitoring after it was slightly injured while being bred a few days after birth.

(What? Huh?)

I think it was the mother that was "being bred." Rawstory needs another editor. leveymg Aug 2013 #1

Still kinda weird, but that's the zoo business.

There's a similar story from the LA Times that instead says the baby panda was slightly injured by the mother panda in the first few days.

Also, infant pandas are absolutely tiny (think it said this one was 6 1/2 ounces.) Can't imagine any form of breeding shortly after birth.

(Sorry, editing cause having trouble getting the link to work)
