Aetna, of course, feels my pain.
I can't wait for Medicare-for-all to get here. These kind of increases will only make it happen faster.

(13,985 posts)Every year they up the rates, its ridiculous.
What makes you think that these increases will have anything to do with Medicare for all? Do you think majority of Congress cares? Health Ins companies have been bleeding people dry forever. Why would it change now?

(39,343 posts)Luckily I had my last week long hospital stay paid by Florida Medicaid (before they threw me off the roll) and written off as charity by the catholic hospital.
Drs visits, labs, and $200 a month meds are all cash pay.
Maybe we'll get healthcare , but I doubt I'll be here to see it.
Other than that I can't complain.

(30,252 posts)If I get hired for the job I was recently interviewed for, I'll be back under BCBS, but hopefully with enough money to offset the rising premiums. But we shall see.

(18,864 posts)My premiums are dropping a bunch. Thank goodness.
When I had private insurance it was pretty normal for it to increase about 20% a year or more.

I'm hoping the ACA does what it promises and makes health care affordable for everyone in 2014.

(92 posts)Insurance went up 31% last year, deductible went from $250 to $1000 per person. This year it is going up 24% and we are losing vision and dental. I am paying $668 a month for two people. I am union and work for a city government. We got a 1% raise last year and 0% this year. And my city has some of the best benefits of any city in the area. Just dont know where this is going to end!
