68th anniversary of VJ Day
Victory over Japan.
the only reason I remember is because it is also my mother's birthday.
But since I am spurred to remember it every year, I usually think what a great feeling must have washed over this country that day. Finally, the worst mess mankind has gotten itself into was over.
