In the midst of turmoil in Egypt,

a Coptic Orthodox Church in Minneapolis is holding an "Egyptian Festival" this weekend. We have a small community of Coptic Egyptians in the Minneapolis St. Paul area. I usually go to this festival, but will skip it this year. The Copts are one of the minority groups in Egypt that gets slammed by both sides of the Islamic sectarianism that plagues the Middle East. They are always fearful of Islamic extremists, and both sides wish to see them gone from Egypt.

I think this weekend's "Festival" will not be a happy occasion, since so many of the Copts here in the Twin Cities have relatives still living in Egypt, and things are not good for Coptic Christians in Egypt in times of turmoil.
