(alternate thread title "Why I'm Boycotting the film Ender's Game."
This according to the gay-bashing, boycott-baiting author Orson Scott Card, who seems to delight in undermining the success of the upcoming film adaptation of his book "Ender's Game".
This film stars Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, among others.
Card believes that Michelle Obama will be the next president, and Obama will install her by force. Slates Dave Weigel put the pieces of Cards delusions which he calls a fun theory into place.

(5,997 posts)I've enjoyed books written by Dean Koontz, but was shocked to read an interview where he outed himself as a pug who'd donated money to Michele Bachmann.
My lefty worldview apparently is incompatible with the idea of creative types being conservatives.

(51,666 posts)clue, if you read his books, is his fawning adoration for all things Orange County, and depicting it as a nearly holy place. And then all things Los Angeles are basically the literal work of the devil.
He's the RW's answer to Stephen King, except he isn't 1/10th the writer.

(10,362 posts)It was a great book, as was his follow-up Speaker for the Dead. Ender's Game (IIRC, I read it as a teen) reads like a book written by an insightful person who was accepting of other cultures, borderline anti-war.
Then his books got really weird and unfocused, and finally downright political. Fans watched their favorite characters fall apart reciting LDS doctrine and other nonsense.
