You may remember this photo of the Obama administration officials watching the bin Laden compound raid from the Situation Room. However the latest stupid gossip story of the day? An excerpt from former white house aide (and Duke University basketball and football player) Reggie Love talking about how Obama played spades during the bin Laden raid!

Mediaite has the story: "Reggie Love: Obama Took Break from Watching bin Laden Raid to Play Cards"; so does NBC, "President Obama played cards with aide on day SEALs killed bin Laden"; of course the usual collection of right wing ghetto sites like The Blaze have reported on this non-story.

My comment: This stupid story is just a throw anything on the wall til it sticks exercise. Are right wingers still dismayed that their guy Bush couldn't get bin Laden so they're stretching as much as they could to do historical revisionism of the bin Laden raid? Not to mention that the editors of sites like The Blaze know that the story puts a stereotypical LAZY BLACK GUY PLAYING CARDS image in plenty of readers' minds.

I posted it on Twitter last year as the "official" White House response to all those WH petitions to allow states to secede from the union. Of course, it's really a picture of his reaction after making a fundraiser call and being hung up on. What else are you going to do?

I'm so looking forward to the usual Facebook suspects start spreading this silly story around. That dang stupid Bryan Fischer used the opportunity to assert that the Situation Room picture had Obama photoshopped in. How much more August can the news get?

Bryan Fischer: Obama Was Photoshopped Into Bin Laden Situation Room Photo

Conservatives seeking to unveil the transgressions of President Barack Obama's presidency seized upon another target Thursday: the iconic photograph capturing a tense moment in the White House Situation Room on the night of the raid upon Osama bin Laden.

After skeptics coaxed the White House into releasing a photo of Obama skeet shooting in February, and Fox News suggested a photo of Obama golfing was "staged" earlier this week, Bryan Fischer, a conservative radio host and an official with the American Family Association, followed suit with a familiar, and quite detailed, conspiracy theory.

"Look at the size of his head compared to the size of the head of everybody else in the room. Even people standing in the back of the room, their heads are bigger than his head," Fischer said on his show Focal Point. "And it looks teeny-tiny next to the people that he's sitting next to. He looks kind of hunched over and small."

He continued: "Frankly I think that got photoshopped in after deal. I think Obama's approach was, 'Hey, if this thing goes south, I don't want to be in the room. I don't want to be anywhere near this thing if it blows up. If it succeeds, if it's an outstanding success, then photoshop me in there.'"
