(114,904 posts)I have to put my dog down within the next couple of weeks. She's 17 and she can't make through another winter. It's hard to say goodbye to our dear animal friends.

(1,113 posts)not fair that dogs and cats have such a short life span, it hurts so much when they leave. Prayers for support coming your way.

(112,434 posts)people who are not owned by the furries have no idea of the love, the joy--and the sorrow when they leave.

(114,904 posts)My son who is 26 is also having a hard time. That dog was a real part of his childhood. He was 8 when we got her.

(654 posts)It's amazing how much of our lives intertwine with theirs and we become as close to them as our family....for some even closer than family for whatever reasons. The parting becomes painful, I hope you are feeling okay.
I've gotten to the point where I almost don't want to have the pets anymore, it's getting to be a heartbreak waiting to happen...I still have the two cats I rescued but when the Lab had to be put down a couple of years ago I couldn't bear starting over with another dog....

(5,141 posts)They may be little, but they leave a giant hole in your heart when they go. I feel your pain!
I just lost one of my dogs this spring, his brother the year before and the best cat in the world passed away a year before that.
I currently have 3 kitties and 2 dogs and each one is precious to me. We take them into our hearts knowing that we will lose them one day, but it does not deter us one bit, does it?
Play on, little Ramona.

(17,111 posts)We who choose to surround ourselves
with lives even more temporary than our
own, live within a fragile circle;
easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps,
we would still live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only
certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan.

(22,271 posts)I know how hard it is to lose a fur baby. She was a pretty girl and I know she gave you many hours of joy and many happy memories. And as soon as you're ready, please remember there are MILLIONS of animals out there that need a home. Please consider taking in another pet.
Deepest condolences from my fur babies (Ghostie, Henry, Erica, Xena, Dutchess and Loki) and I.

(10,237 posts)My Spencer went to doggie heaven almost 20years ago and I love and miss him to this day, although we have our 2 kitties, Spirit & Oreo, as a part of our family today.
People who've never had pets have NO IDEA of how much of a friend and a part of our family=ilies that our pets become and how much of a los they are when they pass on. Please accept my deepest condolences.
PEACE!

(110,909 posts)and I'm so sorry you have lost your furry friend.
I think it's harder when our four footed family members die than it is when we lose the two footed ones. There is just something about the uncritical affection they show us.

(1,587 posts)She's waiting for you now over the Rainbow Bridge, having fun and making new friends until you are together again.
I know all my four-footed loved ones are there, and I'll be with them not too long from now (hopefully not too soon, though!). Except for my last dog, who we had to put down a few years ago when her cancer came back. She'll be waiting for her boy, my youngest son.
Big hugs to all who have lost, or about to lose, their furbabies.

(50,983 posts)When I turned on the video I was doing the same thing with my kitteh. I was throwing his toys one at a time. We do this every morning. If I don't play he reaches in his toy box and pulls his toys out.
Love No Quarter too. What an incredible piece of music.
