Walker's police force now arresting journalists

I went to the Wisconsin capitol again today to report on the Solidarity Singers, as I’ve done many times before. I was not intending to get arrested. Nor did I want to get arrested. But that’s what happened.

What the hell happened to my home state?! Every day it just keeps getting worse.

and when we get "insubordinate" they are to put us in our place and teach them who's boss.

I would be very interested in seeing exactly what the training is like. Would be an interesting documentary, having people go through training undercover in various police academies.

Der Walkenfuhrer gotten even worse since the failed recall last summer? Seems to me that that made him even more smug and arrogant and dictatorial than before. I really do NOT understand why Wisconsin did not recall this motherfucker and why they still tolerate him and his dictatorial cabal still being in office.

It's pretty simple really. Wisconsin, like a lot of places, is a pretty polarized state. The uprising surprised all the politicos on both sides and it was showing signs of becoming more and more militant. There was even talk by a labor organization about a general strike. I believe a vote was taken that authorized the leadership to call one. This step would have been WAY too much for the PTBs of both parties, even though it wasn't ever really a serious threat. So they did what they do, take the anger of the working class and put it into a "safe" channel, i.e. a vote. They then set up the EXACT SAME SCENARIO OF THE 2010 ELECTION! Same candidates, same basic issues. And guess what? Same outcome and I believe by the same percentages.

True it WAS a missed opportunity, but it wasn't a missed opportunity because of a vote. Workers needed to take that next step. It might not have worked, but we saw how well the vote actually worked out. There were some shady things going on with the vote too.

Basically, the owners weren't going to allow any other outcome than what happened within the system. If you REALLY wanted to change things, the workers of Wisconsin needed to attempt to bypass the system and their leadership didn't let that happen either.

Today is the results of those failures.

I think it's really quite sad that we succeeded in forcing the special election, a rather rare achievement in the USA. It just ended up raising then dashing the hopes of a lot of dems outside the state, and raising their fears that such troubles may come to them. Disappointed anxious dems aren't great for morale .

The reality is socially minded people of Wisconsin lost a big battle to the anti-social forces of the anti-urban teahadists. Now their putsch of phalangist/neoFeudal radicalism continues and has yet to run out of mind numbingly shocking practices.

But within the reality there are still people in WI who have never conceded the political war is lost. They resist in their small way, giving those in control of WI government every opportunity to expose the inglorious character of the masters of the new world order they serve.

Let gopers in for an inch and they take a foot and never look back. Change rules and laws to benefit their quest for complete power and control. WI didn't rid him back at the recall election, reap with you sow.

and, of course, as everyone knows, that is what Hitler did.

They get into power by way of elections, then dismantle the democratic underpinnings of their society so that they can expand and consolidate their power without effective resistance from the populace.

Didn't you?

I don't know that he was a good guy or not, I just know that the situation after his election was intractable because all the judges were still Mubarak appointments. The people were screaming for him to 'create a parliament!', 'create a government!', but he couldn't because the judges stopped him at every attempt to do anything.

So he did the one thing that the media reported: He suspended the power of the judiciary. What your media left out was the part about WHY he did it.

Those judges are Mubarak's judges, but you didn't know that, did you?

Two and a half-years of Walker, and he and his teahadist legislature's repression still have the power to shock.

With the power of the presidency and a supportive Congress the novus ordo seclorum the depths of the perversion of democracy would have no bounds.

or watching people sing.

It's about people promoting solidarity against the practices of those who govern. Its about publishing stories that expose the resistance to the ALEC puppets and Koch Cronies.

The creeps inside the capitol will tolerate no resistance to their anti-social, anti-democracy orientation.

The justification for this grew out of reaction to scaring the protestors shit out of Glenn Grothman during the protests in 2011 as seen here.

The pogrom against national and state constitutional guarantees at the WI capital is really about creating a one-party state, with politics "uniformly" enforced.
