Runoff from agricultural chemical use is poisoning many streams, rivers, and lakes. Many areas even advise you when you get a fishing license that fish from certain areas should not be eaten. Check your states DEP and you'll probably find more than you wanted to know.

I figure everything is getting so over fished, SOMEBODY has to stop eating them. So my family is taking one for the team. We don't eat anything that comes out of the water.
