Events of epic proportions are unfolding before our very eyes.

Dismantling the middle class has been the war cry of the tea party/nut job/Palin loving/ALEC/constitution destroying/Wall Street/Koch industries/Bain Capital GOP (George Orwell's Prediction), and they're succeeding at an alarming rate.

Throw in some Dems for good measure and we've got a deadly mixture threatening to dismantle the very fabric that wove this country together.

Plus add a complacent DOJ aiding and abetting criminals on Wall Street.

Stirring the pot is Obama. That Larry Summers is even a consideration for the position of Fed Chair is beyond the pale. Also Obama's secret agreements concerning the TPP and his position on SS and Medicare is scary in and of itself. Feb 18, 2009, a quote from White House spokesman Ben LaBolt, "As the president stated during the campaign, he does not believe the Fairness Doctrine should be reinstated.” WTF? Death by drones, drones and more drones in the so-called war against terror. Yeah, I know, McMonkey started death by drone, but Obama has escalated its use.

The militarization of police departments nationwide is becoming more apparent with each cracked skull we are witnessing almost on a daily basis. Peaceful protesters and being tased, pepper sprayed and arrested on drummed up charges and the cops are getting away with their crimes.

Women are being denied basic reproductive health care because it can lead to abortions, according to state governors where clinics are being forced to shut down.

Hate for minorities is on the upswing, especially in southern states.

If we think that because Rush Lamebrain getting fired will be the end of hate radio, we haven't been paying attention. Plenty of radio stations that spew hate propaganda are all to willing to fill in the space with more nut jobs ala Lamebrain.

And there is Faux Noise, the right wing propaganda channel. Joseph Goebbels would be so proud.

Next is the SCOTUS. Scalia (the Italian Scallion) and the rest of his right wing cohorts in the Supreme Court are responsible for a lot of decisions that have negatively affected this country, starting with Citizens United.

And so it goes. History in real time. And that's just in the US.

4. Saddest for me...

is that this is where the US is AFTER having a momentous and historic election following 8 years of (what I thought was) madness.

It seems to me that the bar has been tremendously reset so that now Obama represents the left and the actual left has been dropped into the historic chasm occupied by the Communist Party from the 1920's and the Dodo bird.

I see no hope of the current political system delivering anything better unless people become radicalized and demand a sea change.
