Where I live, there is not a lot of thinking about the issue. It would be like worrying about California wildfires in Chicago.

But we know a family from Fukushima that had come to live on our island. They returned recently to Fukushima, but the mom is very worried and stressed about exposure to radiation. They just returned here for a week-long visit and apparently it makes her feel better psychologically to get away from there if even for a week.

Father works in Fukushima. They were apart for almost 2 years. He is a very devoted dad and time with family is precious.

Life demands hard or even impossible choices.

I hope you, and they, are holding up well. I guess many would have to make the same choices for similar reasons and just push any worry out of their minds to survive sanely. I know I would have to.

It sounds as if you come from a strong family, that is fortunate.

Never to return home?

Protests about restarting any nuke reactors.

Fishermen see their livelihoods radiated away.

And it could all blow sky high again.
