Sometimes a photo is graphic not for what is shown, but for what it represents.

(6,960 posts)These faces and the others at the link need to plastered on billboards, outside gun shops, outside the NRA headquarters, and all over Capitol Hill!

(39,665 posts)That's my stance in less than 10 words.

(1,494 posts)But I would be open to ideas where we could meet in the middle somewhere. I'm assuming most of these deaths were of the accidental variety, which totally pisses me off (if I'm wrong, call me on it). I'm not a "gun enthusiast" though, just a guy from the hills who mostly hunts (eat what we kill).

(39,665 posts)I suspect we would agree on a lot of things.

(713 posts)self defense. I have no children, so I don't worry about keeping them loaded around the house.
1awake
(1,494 posts)though I am trained with them. Mine are for hunting only... well.. some target practice to. As far as loaded (and I'm not directing this at you) a gun is always loaded, even when it isn't. I do have children, and I keep my guns under multiple locks and then inside a safe under a combination.
**** - Going way of the intention of this post. It was to highlight the multiple deaths of children caused by not the least of which would be guns. ( Granted adult's stupidity is a large contributing factor.)

(15,682 posts)I would feel differently about guns if I needed them to defend my life every time I left the house. I'm glad that hasn't ever been the case. I'm sorry it is for you.

(15,882 posts)reasons, shot while someone was shooting at someone else, victims of gang initiations (victims not gang members) , killed by their parents...
Like the kid in the middle with the glasses, shot 5 times in the face by his mom with a .22 she purchased that day at a pawn shop. Shot herself too but survived.
Lots of intentional violence out there. With legally owned guns. Like the ones I have. But in the hands of people who weren't in a state that they should have had access to them.
We really need to fix that, because it is just going to get hotter, and worse, as we go forward.

(25,111 posts)and it does seem like America has moved on with other more pressing issues (not). I read recently that Dems could not handle multiple issues which is total bullshit. I heart this and thank you so much!
