Here's what happens when you repeatedly lie to your rabid base about how easy it is to get rid of settled law.

“I have not heard, 'Don’t shut down the government over ObamaCare,'” Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-Ind.) said, referring to meetings with his constituents over the recess. “I have heard, 'This law is not ready for primetime, and we need to do anything we can to stop it.'” Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) has held six events in his north Texas district so far in August and is leaning toward backing the shutdown threat. [...]

......................

Rep. Burgess also reports that his constituents are outraged that Congress and staff will be getting taxpayer-subsidized health insurance on the health insurance exchanges under Obamacare. Obviously, the constituents meeting with Burgess are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Who in the hell do they think has been subsidizing the very generous health insurance these folks have been enjoying for decades? Santa Claus? The health insurance fairy?

These are the people that put Republicans back in charge of the House of Representatives on the promise of Obamacare repeal. These are the people that could lose the House for Republicans because no one in GOP leadership seems to have the spine to stand up to them and tell them their idea is really stupid, can't work, and would be a disaster. No, it's much easier to keep telling the teabaggers that they can somehow make Obamcare go away.
