This whole thing makes me so sad.
...
In a segment on his show, the conservative TV host broadcast personal details about two of the women, who later received abortions from Tiller. The patients, of course, had no idea their personal details would be discussed on a national news program. (OReilly did not respond to multiple requests for comment on where he obtained the documents.)
The records contain few identifying details about the females, but in one case, Neuhaus describes a 10-year-old girl who was raped by her uncle as tiny and physically incapable of being able to have a baby. Another girl was drugged and then raped by multiple men who videotaped their crime.
...
If Neuhaus gets her license back, it will help allow her to participate in more clinical studies in her research job at the University of Kansas Medical Center's Department of Family Medicine. But she "definitely" would not use it to go back to work providing abortion care for women.
I've had enough, she said. "If I had to do it again, I wouldn't do it without an army."
"I feel that people have a responsibility to stand up for their own rights at some point. And if you dont stand up for your rights you will lose them," she added. "Were seeing that everywhere. You cant expect people to keep martyring themselves.
Sorry, forgot the link. Good read:

(1,799 posts)I posted the link if you want to read her whole story. Her life is falling apart for helping women (children!) in desperate situations.

(1,799 posts)She is a doctor who lost her license for providing abortions to desperate women. They are manipulating the laws to effectively make it illegal for doctor's to perform a legal, medical procedure. In my state of Ohio, they're trying to pass a 6 week ban.
Our rights are at risk.

(32,019 posts)this is from the Feb. 14 Malloy show, Malloy's rant is based on how Bill continually called George Tiller "Tiller the Baby Killer" until Tiller was shot.
(on edit: sorry this rant was about Julie Burkhart not Ann Neuhaus)

That bears repeating, though I'm pretty sure it's gonna have to get way worse for it, if possible, to get better. In a whole lot of areas.

(12,081 posts)harassment but that will happen to anyone who stands up for women's rights. So, if we as citizens and those who practice medicine expect to get out of this without harassment we are sadly mistaken. Yes, we as citizens have to stand up for our rights, and the good doctor there if she gets her license back should continue to stand up for women's rights as well.

(15,882 posts)wake up one day and find the things they thought were available are no longer there. Just like they took her license. Just like they are stripping people of the right to vote in many states. The reason she lost her license is that enough people aren't standing up. There should be ten million people in the streets, (we have 300 million +) but at most you see a few thousands. For the big political issues of our time that simply isn't enough backing to fight the powers being arrayed against us.
She can go to another state, and probably will, and the idiots who took the piece of paper just made it much harder for people to get services there. They will seek out what they were used to, and the cost will shift to other states, and the deaths will increase.
We will see if people want to stand up and stop it or not. My guess is they won't, across a whole variety of issues. They just aren't aware enough of what is changing around them, and they forgot that it took lives and blood just to get them what they have/had. Whether we re-learn those lessons is a big question.

(12,081 posts)yes, we must all wake up before many things are taken from us.
